Radar animation and stills sequence looking inside the notch of a severe thunderstorm that appeared ominous both on radar and under the base. There was no lightning so I positioned to where I thought city light would help to see the cloud features. Though mostly outflow dominate, the activity suggests it was trying to wrap up some. This was part of a significant outbreak of severe weather this day including a damaging EF2 tornado up north at Caledonia IL.

When it comes to Mother Nature’s wrath, few natural disasters are more powerful, destructive, and deadly than hurricanes. Whether called a typhoon, cyclone, or hurricane, the destruction these intense storms leave behind is all the same. They are a spectacle of nature’s unrelenting and unforgiving power.

Today on Feed My Curiosity, we’ll discover just how hurricanes form. In the second part of the video, we will look at some of the ways to stay safe during hurricane season. At the end of the day, these storms are should not be taken lightly. It’s important to know how they form and how to be prepared when you’re in one’s path!
